Description
This protein is derived from the domesticated species Bombyx mori (B. mori) of the family Bombycidae. Silk sutures are processed to remove the natural waxes and gums. Silk suture is braided, dyed black and coated with silicone. Black dye is Hematein HCK (C. I.-color index no. 75290).
Surgical silk sutures are compliant with American Pharmacopeia non-absorbable surgical sutures monograph and European Pharmacopeia sterile braided silk suture monograph conditions.
