Description

Fastlak dental sutures are flexible, synthetic, absorbable, sterile and multifilament (braided) dental surgical suture consisting of copolymer synthetized from 90% glycolide and 10% L-lactide (glycolic and lactide acid derivatives). It is in the empirical formula of copolymer (C₂H₂O₂)m(C₃H₄O₂)n form. Fastlak sutures have multifilament structure and consist of braided fibers. Fastlak absorbable surgical sutures are degraded with gamma rays to ensure fast hydrolysis/absorption.

Fastlak surgical dental sutures coating material is prepared from equal amount of calcium stearate and 30% glyocolide and 70% lactic acid mixture. The fast absorbable surgical suture is absorbable and do not cause irritation as it is used on living organisms.
