Polypropylene (PP) Dental Sutures
Polypropylene (PP) non-absorbable Monoprolen sutures are commonly preferred by dentists in tooth extraction and periodontal interventions in oral, dental and maxillofacial surgery.
As a non-absorbable surgical suture, Polypropylene (PP) is a synthetic dental suture with monofilament structure. This dental surgical sutures knowns as Monoprolen in the oral surgery has synthetic linear polyolefin composed of stereoisomer of isotactic crystal of polypropylene in its chemical structure. Monoprolen sutures have permanent tensile strength, sterilized with EO (ethylen oxide) and packed in aluminium packages with or without needle.
These are commonly used for extracting the wisdom teeth in oral, dental and maxillofacial, periodontal interventions for gum diseases and removing the lip-tongue connection with frenectomy to connect the tissues.
Monoprolen surgical sutures are accepted as non-absorbable surgical sutures in the American Pharmacopoeia and the European Pharmacopoeia and meets all the requirements in oral, dental and maxillofacial surgery.
